Warehouse Coordinator/Driver (Contract Term Position - 18 months)

We are currently seeking a Warehouse Coordinator/Driver to join our operations on a contract-term full-time basis for a period of 18 months with the potential for longer term position.

The Warehouse Coordinator/Driver  is responsible for the day-to-day operation of a warehouse and yard servicing a telecommunications infrastructure project in NL.  

This role requires a minimum of 40 hours per week,  a valid driver’s license and reasonable driver’s abstract and a willingness to travel as may be needed.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee project materials depot and yard to ensure inventory is tracked, available, and organized for a project term of 18 months and deliver materials as needed to job sites – potential for longer term;
    • Oversee issuance and return of tools and equipment from the warehouse
    • Deliver materials to jobsites using company vehicle
    • Organizing daily job packages as requested by divisional operations and project teams
    • Preparing shipments, delivery of materials to work sites as required
    • Receive, ship, and record daily deliveries to reconcile inventory
    • Inspect the levels of supplies and consumable material to identify shortages
    • Place orders to replenish stock avoiding insufficiencies or surplus
    • Ensure product stock is adequate for all divisions and fulfill direct orders for supply-only customers
    • Management and tracking of consignment stock of various vendors
    • Use software to monitor demand and document characteristics of inventory
    • Report to upper management on stock levels, issues etc.
    • Calculate material requirements based on provided quotes
    • Pricing and ordering of materials as needed, issuing purchase orders as directed by the purchasing manager
    • Resolving materials shortages when required
    • Auditing inventory, restocking as required
    • Analyze data to anticipate future needs
    • Devise ways to optimize inventory control procedures
    • General maintenance and oversight of the warehouse and inventory
    • Ensure a tidy, organized and effective warehouse/yard  operation
    • Overall perform duties in a safe manner;
    • Other duties as may be assigned
Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
  • Self-starter, motivated and highly organized
  • Ability to handle multiple requests or tasks at the same time
  • Excellent math skills, ability to assess quotes and determine materials requirements
  • Innovative problem solver
  • Self-disciplined requiring little to no supervision
  • Skilled in organization, planning and time management; must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to interact professionally with vendors, customers and staff
  • Knowledge of computer systems and related software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with JONAS Construction software will be considered an asset
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to work 7AM to 3PM Daily
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reasonable driver’s abstract
  • The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal record check
Experience Required
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in warehouse operations
  • Preference will be given to candidates with warehousing experience in the telecommunications industry
  • Fork lift Operator certification is an asset 
Compensation and Benefits
  • The hourly wage for this position ranges between $19.00/hr - $23.00/hr, depending on experience, skills and qualifications.
  • Compensation is paid every week on Thursdays;
